Test Greenhouse

Van den Bos owns and operates nearly two hectares of greenhouses where a dedicated team continuously trials all batches.  24 bulbs per variety,  per batch are planted at least twice per year. The same goes for the new varieties of the future. We thoroughly test most new varieties of the renown breeding companies. If they meet our standards,  business partners can be assured of access to the best starting material available.

Aditionally we have a separate freesia test greenhouse to monitor our freesia breeding. Here you will find seedlings, young bulbs, first and multiple year varieties and our own selection.

The test greenhouse set-up enables us to look at the development, growth, bud-count, growing cycle and susceptibility of the different batches. Van den Bos Flowerbulbs accurately registers all relevant data per batch. Clients can access relevant data through our website.

These facilities are located at the corporate headquarters. We are best equipped to host you during our open days which are traditionally held the last week of May, but of course clients and business partners are welcome any day of the year.
